Buying a tree
How do I find a lot near me?
Enter your zip code on the Buy a tree page and we’ll show you which unit sells to your address, along with their hours and location.
Can I buy from a unit outside my zip?
Curbside recycling pickup is zip-restricted so units don’t compete for the same streets, but tree lots are usually open to anyone who shows up — check the specific unit’s page for details.
Do units deliver trees?
Some do, some don’t. That’s set by the individual unit, so check their listing or ask when you order.
Wreaths
When should I order?
Most units take wreath orders ahead of the season and hand them over at the lot, so order early if you want a specific size — popular sizes sell out.
Can I pick a wreath up somewhere other than the lot?
That depends on the unit. Check your unit’s listing on the Wreaths page for pickup details.
Recycling
What’s the difference between curbside pickup and drop-off?
With curbside pickup, you book ahead and leave your tree at the curb on the scheduled morning. Drop-off sites take any tree from anywhere, no appointment needed. See placement tips for how to get your tree ready either way.
What do I need to remove from the tree first?
Stand, lights, tinsel, and ornaments all need to come off. Flocked and painted trees usually can’t be chipped, so most units won’t take them.
When does pickup happen?
It varies by unit, but most run the first weekend in January. Enter your zip on the Tree recycling page to see your unit’s exact dates.
I missed the pickup — what now?
Contact the unit covering your zip directly. Some will do a second pass; others can point you to their drop-off site instead.
Is there a fee, and where does it go?
Most units treat recycling donations as voluntary. Whatever you give goes straight to that unit — it helps fund camp, gear, and activities for their Scouts.
